Welcome! I am an associate professor at the Polish Academy of Sciences and a fellow at the Hertie School in Berlin. My current research focuses on decision-making and entrepreneurship in European Union´s foreign and security policy.
For 15+ years I have been pursuing an academic career in Political Science and International Relations and I enjoyed experiencing different countries (Poland, Germany, Italy, United States and Canada), universities and cultures. Currently, I am an assistant professor at the Institute of Political Studies at the Polish Academy of Sciences (Warsaw) and a fellow at the Center for International Security at the Hertie School (Berlin). Previously, I worked as a postdoctoral fellow for the Dahrendorf Forum, a joint project of the London School of Economics and the Hertie School. In 2016 - 2017 I was a Jean Monnet Fellow at the Robert Schuman Center for Advanced Studies at the European University Institute in Florence (Italy) and I remain affiliated with "Europe in the World" programme conducted there.
My research interests lie primarily in international relations, particularly in the study of European Union´s foreign, security and defence policy and in the investigation of the institutional dynamics between the supranational and national level in EU's foreign policy making. I also work on bilateral cooperation between EU´s Member States in the field of foreign and security policy as well as on the application of foresight methods in IR.
My work has been published in various academic journals such as "Journal of Common Market Studies", "Contemporary Security Policy", "Journal of European Integration", "The British Journal of Politics and International Relations", "Geopolitics", "Global Policy", "International Politics" and "Futures. The journal of policy, planning and futures studies".
In my free time, I am an passionate backpack traveler, dancer and sport enthusiast: kitesurfing has dethroned all other sports and now I spend most of my spare time at the Red Sea.
